This workshop was right up my street! I have been teaching our students the perils of Google searching for a while, but this was really an eye opener. Web2.0
is getting fantastically smart and even too clever for itself!
Well maybe not for itself, but definitely for the ordinary user. We are all aware of the privacy issues around social networking and even being the most careful user there are 100s of ways that the information and more importantly the information about your connections is being mined on the internet.
Karen gave such an interesting and very up-to-date overview of search issues and practical advice on how to outfox and take back control over ones “persona” on the web.
Some very good advanced search tips for using Google to best advantage.
