Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning have become the most talked about topics amongst scholars and professionals. This field is rapidly evolving as it is being applied in various fields thus making it multidisciplinary. With that being said, everyone is exposed to AI and ML on a daily basis without being aware. Why you ask? Well, fear not as Prof. Benjamin Rosman enlightened us at the last talk we hosted by providing an engaging and rather layman’s based talk which provided a rather generic and easy to understand overview of the discipline/s.
In simple terms, AI is as Prof Rosman put it “the pursuit of understanding intelligence”… Hmmmm, simple right? Hahaha, not quite…
Delegates were introduced to AI and ML fundamentals which entailed the following core perspective:
-Engineering: Focussing on building systems.
-Biological: With a stance in understanding the human brain.
Well, that’s not. As mentioned earlier, AI and ML are multidisciplinary thus making them broad in nature. Some of the applications of the these phenomena entail the following (which I know will surely make our jobs easier…hail AI and ML):
-Identification of inferences
He then provided real-life examples of the application of AI and ML, which left a few jaws dropped in amazement.
